Just In Case...

I just wanted to post Maria Tachibana is my favorite character out of all the girls in Sakura Taisen, and Lobelia's endings are the best over all... I have never gotten a Sakura ending ever. Just for the record.

Sakura Taisen OVA 2

I wrote a long entry about Sakura Taisen but I hit the "cancel" button. >_<

Picked up Sakura Taisen OVA 2 vol 2 last week but never had a chance to see it. The only other person that really understands and appreciates this series besides me is Ed, so we watched it at HIR on Mon.

Anyways, I trully liked the last two episodes of Sakura Taisen OVA 2 because I got so much backstory about Sakura's family, her relation to the Sakura bloodline, the sword, and her ties to the Hana-gumi and Teitokagekidan. While before this (not counting Drama CDs and etc) this backstory was heavily inferred, often times seen as flashbacks, and cross referenced, but it was never trully told in full from any perspective. Sakura's back story gets told in two episodes. (Not bad). Ed and I agree that these two eps were the most interesting (while he was more amused by the Haunted Sumire Benitokage ep and I liked the Maria Ep) due to the fact that we got to see something that was only inferred.

Not to go into details about the end, Animeondvd referrs to this in one of their reviews, the last two episodes covers the reason why the game was called Sakura Taisen (aside from the obvious reasons) we get to see why Sakura is so important in the fight against the Kouma and her past, present, and future. You trully respect and come to see that Sakura has matured. Or at least I did. Sakura has made a decision that she believes is best for everybody (this decision is referred to in the 2nd game). Just a random tidbit I thought interesting because she makes decisions in the 2nd game about her future and they are reiterated here in the OVA.

It was also voted that night that Kazuma Shinkuji was a badass. Kekekeke

We also theorized that the ST:Kouma game may be Onimusha like, no Kanzaki mechs, just guts, gore, blood, and a handy knife or sword. Kekekekeke. Its possible, after seeing how cool a character Kazuma is. XD
