Good news I am l33t enough to be in Calc class (but not by much =P) I'm in the "if you study every waking hour of your life you'll get maybe a C" category @_@. But its better than the calc teacher telling me, "Uhhh you shouldn't be here? Were you nuts?"
So this year I'll get a tutor and try to study. (Be an actual student that applies herself o.o) I'm a fairly smart person I just don't apply myself. =P I get that all the time. I guess its because I don't find any "lure" to certain classes/subjects. ^^ Ironically its the harder more demanding courses that I love and apply myself to. (Which is sort of logical...).
Listening to: Silicone (again!) - by Mono.
On another note: I also finished the 2nd anniversary edition of Doki-doki.org (formerly known as the Rurichan Connection.) The March layout has my ultimate doki-doki boy, Ryuudo Tsuzuku. *drool* Here is a preview of the picture which I had also tried to turn into wallpaper (but failed...). I will probably lower the intensity of the colors and modify it a bit. I'm aiming for a netscape/IE format again. My Human Comm & New Tech class is intersting, its a hit and miss for what I "want it to be" as opposed to "what it really is" (curriculum wise). Since its such a new course its has to touch on basics before hitting the more rhetorical and moral issues of comm & tech. =P My first assignment is a simple 1 page essay on what I think Technology is. (Steph debates cutting and pasting one of her blog layouts ...) ^_~ It also turns out that we took a pre-test in calc to determine who was smart enough to pass the class. I guess I'm not l33t enough cuz I sure forgot 1/2 of the pre-calc I learned last semester T.T And I need to pass calc for my CS minor. =P Speaking of technology... my computer is acting up. -_- and its freezing in this house. Normally I type better but tonight my hands are frozen stiff and its hard to hit keys. =P
Listening to: Silcone - Mono (from the Formica Blues CD =D) I like the lyrics in this song: I always try to hide behind a painted smile...
The Mono CD is great! It takes some getting used to in sound (its not exactly St. Etienne but its close to them) if anything St. Etienne is like sugar and Mono is like salt (for a comparison ^^;;) I really like the song Silicone. Monday & Wednesdays are my hardest days (well that may change when I find out how my 570 Human Com & Tech class goes @_@) with 2 hrs of Argumentation and Advocacy and then 3 hours of Bio (1 hr) and Calculus I (2 hrs right after). But the cool thing is I bought my calc book off some guy for 50 bucks and its like new O_O Its amazing. (the guy wasn't that bad looking either ^_~) My Bio class and my Argumentation and Advocacy class are sort of snoozing classes. Some people in my A&A class are not "all there" if you know what I mean. @_@. My Calc class is scary o.o. The assignment sheet looks like a calc problem initself. The Prof has the assignment sheet laid out as: 4n+1 0{n{20. (Imagine the { as "more than or equal to" signs pitas.com won't let me do "more than or equal to" signs or even the "more than" sign) As in every 4th problem starting with 1. But in this case the 0{n{20 bit goes like this if n=0 4(0)+1=1. You start with #1 and then when n=1 4(1)+1=5 you follow with #5 and so on and so forth. Its cool and sort of weird too. ^^;;; Alana has a new domain name. Naze-nani.net and the Aoshi picture in it looks quite cute and confuzzled =D. Go see! Go see! This is also beautiful *****_***** Wow Kristi your birthday is 3 days before mine. ^^ Genki Tanjoubi! ^^ I don't feel old but I feel like I'm not young anymore. Genki yes but not young. (Steph ponders her birthday presents too...) Listening to- Formica Blues -Mono - "The Blind Man" Its cool ^_______^
Awwwww Mushy Card Captor Sakura Fic! *Warning* Steph is on CCS-sugar high. Read this entry with a grain of salt pleaseOkay I'm in a CCS mood (but then again with an alias of Kerochan when am I not? o_O) That aside I reread translations for the last volume of CCS manga and maybe its the company I was with at the time but I found these bits to be the funniest and the most ecchi.
Yuki: Do you think she's studying? Or maybe making something she needs for school? (I wish I could do something to help...) Okay if anybody read those 5 lines isolated, one would think that a) they came from a fic and b) that Sakura is about to do something ecchi or bad. ^_~ This is not to criticize Kristin's translations. No! Not at all! If anything they're a compliment! I love them! **^^** Especially since she translated Suki Dakara Suki and when she adds great comments like: "Yuki, also in an apron, comes out to the front hall and finds Sakura putting on her rollerblades. {Let us all pause for a moment and contemplate the fact that if Yuki is still here at 9:00 a.m., he has presumably stayed all night. *long pause* Right. Back to story.}" XD I love that! On another note I'm moving my scarce and small fanfic pages over to doki-doki. ^^ Its my latest project. That and finishing the CCS fic "Wait" and starting its sequel "Truth" After that all if not most of the old pages on the xoom page have moved to doki-doki. I am writing this blog because I don't want school to start. But I need sleep >_<. On another note: This is one of the most complete pages on Souryuuden I've ever seen. Its so drool-rific. (Is that a word? at 2 am it is @_@) So I may not be able to read the Souryuuden novels but I can definitely stare at the pretty covers. I wish someone translated them. *_* I also went and picked up and exchanged very belated xmas gifts. ^^;; I got all 4 Harry Potter Books (English version too ^^) from Emi (Thank you Emi!!!! XD) and a very cool random shoujo manga from Thea (Arigatou Thea!) and got a cool CCS Movie 2 pencil board from Katie. *^^* *Steph wants to randomly add that Katie's car is niiiiiiiice *_* * Ok off to pack for class. I have pretest in Calc (on the first day too! @_@). I hope the classes I chose aren't past the level I'm at right now. @_@ Listening to: Tomosaka Rie - Cappucchino - Its a very genki song.
Lantis! - New doki-doki layout. I just uploaded the new layout for Doki-doki.org. Ironically sakurazukarmori.net also used the same image as the layout (#30?). To be honest I don't care if we used the same image. =P But I did sit on this layout for 2 weeks until the end of January. I'm still fond of the Chris & Company layout for January. I'm thinking of a new layout for March. Wheeeeeee!I'm trying to study for this pre-test in calc. I'm afraid I forgot all the pre-calc I learned last semester. (its happened o.o) so I'm studying the midterms from the pre-calc class since I'm blogging you can tell I'm doing a great job of studying ^^;;;. But that's about it. I'm not in a blogging mood right now. (Wait a few hours ^_~) Listening to: Koji Tamaki - Mr. Lonely - This song was the ED theme song for my favorite Japanese Drama "Love Story" which stared Nanako and Koji Tamaki. Its a very genki-nai story.
Yesterday I had a Un-Chinese New Years Celebration. I met up with Emi and Thea and went to Jtown to see what Kino had for the week. I picked up manga I had been meaning to get. And then we went to eat Japanese food and then we went and did something Chinese and had boba tea =D(did I mention how so not asian I am?o.O). It was an intersting Chinese New Years which ended with me wandering up and down Taraval Street waiting for a streetcar that never came. So I hopped on the next bus that went to the nearest BART station and then went home, total time to get home from Boba tea: 1 1/2 hrs. @_@ I was cold and tired by the time I got home and vowed never to do it again. San Francisco is a weird slightly scary place after 10. I ordered 1 cd off of Amazon. Formica Blues by Mono, I listened to the sample tracks they had and I liked it a lot. Their sound is very lounge electronica which is what I like a lot. I rarely order from Amazon or major online places (except Ebay...) and I shouldn't either or else I'd get used to the lazy feeling of triumph when something arrives to me instead of me having to go out and get it (especially in the current SF rainy winter weather @_@.) Speaking of stuff sent to me its been a week since I ordered my CD from YesAsia and it hasn't arrived yet. -_- After my dentist's appt (yes another one @_@) I went to Borders and picked out 2 HTML books (one I will return because its all centered around Frontpage 2000. 1/4 of the book is "if you have Frontpage 2000..." -_-). I think its dangerous for me to go out and be near a mall. ^^;;;; But today I did the one thing that I call a hobby, I slept! I took a very long nap for 4 hrs. I wanted to kill the neighboors (I live in a neighborhood where the houses are next to each other with no gaps and its very very diverse) they were playing texmex so loud it went through the walls. @_@ And then I think someone was trying to get them to turn it down because I could hear random pounding and the music would be turned down and then stop and then go back to being loud again. Ironically I think they were at war later because they would turn it on full blast. @_@ I couldn't sleep much for the first hour but I was so tired I fell asleep eventually. Listening to: Smashing Pumpkins(not tex-mex!)- Today. (I love this song....)
Lately though, I have started an interest in Jazz. Not easy listening Jazz my father listens to (which I enjoy too...) but more original Jazz. ^^ Jazz follows a very nice melodic tempo that even with words speaks a story for every song. ^^ Anyways, The SF Jazz Org is having a spring season and Marcus Roberts (who is new to me ^^;;) is playing Duke Ellington, Thelonius Monk, and Fats Jelly Roll (I think its Fats Jelly Roll...). Its Ellington's piano music I want to hear the most. Mostly because I love the way jazz piano sounds. It can be strong and then it can be soft. When I think of San Francisco (where I live ^^;;) on a normal day, I think of Jazz playing in the background while cars go to their destinations and people go to their locations, especially when its raining in San Francisco. =) On another note I start school in less than a week !_! Part of me is going, "Yay! something to do!" and part of me is going, "darn no more sleeping in!" I mostly lean towards the former because I want to graduate and go to law school. Listening to: Mood Indigo - Duke Ellington (Thelonius Monk ver.) reminds me of San Francisco.
